Looking for a good inexpensive optical cable...

...and adapter, if needed, to connect an M-Audio Transit to a CIAudio DAC (1/8" optical to regular optical). Doesn't have to be very long...in fact a foot would probably do it. A cheap 15-20 footer would be great, but I'm guessing a decent one would cost much more than I'm willing to spend, and anything shorter and I have no use for the extra length...

If you do a search for "glass optical," you will find many posts regarding cheap glass optical cables which would seem to fit your requirements. There are several sources on ebay and audiogon in the $25 range. I am using one with my Bel Canto DAC 2 and am very satisfied.

I'm using this between my Transit and VDA-1:

Just do a search in eBay for "glass toslink".

If it costs too much, search for "toslink cable". You can find plastic cables for under $10 (including shipping).

BTW, I don't think I've ever seen any that are shorter than 3 ft.
