Do things like vibropods and other things like that really work. Is there any noticeable differences with or without.

It all depends. I bought four and tried them under both my CD player and turntable. Noticed nothing under the CD player but it made a big difference under the turntable, most notably in the bass. Really tightened up. I'm pretty skeptical about tweaks, too, so I'm not one to say things make a difference when they don't. The vibrapods did, though.

I tried the Vibrapods under 2 different CD players (Arcam CD-73 and EVS mod'd Pioneer Universal). Under the Arcam, a little bit of difference for the better, similar to daveman_84's TT experience.

But the Pioneer ended up suffering a bit, a little muddier sounding actually!

They're cheap enough to try, so it may be worth it.

FYI, best under-CD player tweak I've used is a shelf like the Symposiums. I have several similar designs by Audio Resolution (www.audio-resolution.com) and they are incredible for the money, working fairly well on almost anything they are mated with (speakers, DAC, players for me).
