HQ power cords, wow!

Just did a comparison on cheap grade and a high quality power cord with my cd3000 and the difference was as clear as night and day... Very surprising. I could even tell the difference on mp3's. I always had a hard time doing this with my hd600, but I always thought there was a slight difference. With the cd3000 though, I think even my mother could tell the difference if I told her what to listen for. The cheap grade cables just sound flat and boring compared to a higher quality power cord. Much more open and airy bass and the sound just gets more dynamics. The cd3000's are amazing this way, very revealing cans.. Ideal for when testing new cables and A and B'ing with your old ones. Great stuff .

Sorry if this thread is kind of pointless, but I just got so excited about this . I've always felt that hq power cords are way to over priced compared to the improvement you get from them. But I kept mine because I always felt there was a slightest difference, hard to tell, but it was there and that was enough for me to keep them. Glad I did .

It really is amazing when you first hear the difference isn't it? I wasn't expecting it, and once you hear the difference good powercords can make in a good system, you can't imagine going back to the stock cords. What component did you switch power cords on?

Earlier with my HD600's it was both on cdp and the prehead, but for this test it was only the prehead which was one of the reasons why I got so surprised.

Well, I guess it's sort of a DIY cord. A local dealer makes them. I've taken some pictures.
