I bought these puppies just before Christmas and they have been a revelation.

To my knowledge there are two kinds of such adapters: one piece and those with a separate jack and receptacle connected with a short (3"-6") cable. You can get the one piece adapters at Radio Shack but I have never seen a right angled one. They can place a good deal of stress on the mini receptacle and generally are not recommended for that reason. Grado and Sennheiser make the two piece adapters .
ok, it's not right angle, and I do not know if they ship to Canada, but I've had good luck with this from A2Z Cables. It uses high quality Canare cable and Switchcraft or Neutrik fittings.
It's a place to start, and they may do specials (like the right angle), if you really need that.
