Sony D-E555?

I can buy this portable CDP pretty cheap. I think it was introduced in 1999. It has an optical out.

Does anyone know anything about this discman? How does it sound? How many mW does it have?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it's 15mw/ch. All Sony's that I know of from a couple years back or more had at least 15mw/ch even the higher end ones with longer battery life like the D-E555. It probably sounds similar to the D-E775 that someone just mentioned they bought the other day. I think I read some good reviews on it some time ago. I'd go for it if I were you. Hope this helps some.

i'm the guy that recently bought the D-E776CK sony PCDP manufactured in april 1999. yes, it has a 15mW amp. i'm listening to it right now. slightly bright (compared to the panasonic i've tried) but very detailed.

Both of you should write full reviews on these players if you get a chance.
