I don't really play any games with my 0404, so I would be guessing. But since the emu 0404 and 1212 both use the 10k chip, which is the same one used in almost the entire creative internal soundcards sicne the Live series, I would say that they would work better for games than the standard drivers.
As to your headphone question, Sensaura used to do something with headphones, but I never figured out whether games actually used it or not. When I had my TB Santa Cruz you could customize the headphone settings which a bunch of music files that tested for virtual spatialization or something like that.
I don't know if A3d is suported with the 0404 or any of the creative series, maybe someone else knows. But as far as I know, EAX seems to be the only dominate 3d sound processing left out of them all.
Qsound is a 3d enhancer I believe, designed for speakers too close to each other to seems wider apart then they actually are. I've heard it and think it is a nice concept, nothing I would use though. I know that they dub it as 3d sound enchancer, and do have something to enchance surround sound, like Prologic II, but I wonder how effective it is?
