I love this little DAP. It makes all I could want a DAP to do. Maybe I'm so enthusiastic about this one because the Samsung YP-K3 I was using before was a piece of crap compared to the Clip+ and cost me $132.
I bought it along with a 16-Go micro SD card that cost me $17. So I've got a total capacity of 18 Go (18.19 Go, actually) in a DAP which is 5,5 cm long, 3,5 cm wide and 1,5 cm thick, which permits sorting tracks by folder in addition of all other ways, which can play FLAC files, tells me what time it is and permits me to play chess for a total of... $67 ?! OK. Nice.
I rockboxed it immediately after having receiving it. Then, my computer couldn't find it, so I couldn't copy files on it. So here's what to do when your Clip+ is rockboxed (maybe it's totally useless to say that here, but it would have helped me if I saw it written elsewhere than on the Rockbox manual that I read a bit late) :
To copy files on your Clip+ when it has been rockboxed,
boot into the original firmware (press "Backwards" and turn it on) before to connect it,
otherwise your computer won't find it.
Rockbox adds some useful and other funny features, like radio recording and some games as Sokoban and chess. Playing MP3 files with Rockbox also demands less energy from the battery.
Writing speed : around 2.70 Mbps.
I can use my Clip+ normally for 13 hours.
The interface demands a little time to be fully familiar with.
I can't judge the SQ. I can't hear any interference nor noise. When amplified by my CMoy, there is a nearly unhearable hum.
The clip is very useful to me.
