Sony XBA-4SL

Overall Decent but Definitely not Flagship Quality

A review on: Sony XBA-4SL
cuiter23

Pros: Bass, detail, separation

Cons: Mids, build quality, and especially the treble, value

After picking these up from the Sony Store about a year ago, I can say that these are definitely not worth the $350-$400 price tag. Luckily, I picked them up for around $180 and to me, this seems like a more reasonable price for the XBA-4.   I really wanted to like these IEMs a lot more than I actually do. These were primarily going to be my pair for electronic music. I immediately...

Sennheiser HD 650 Headphones

“I bought the HD650 after owning a number of equally good headphones, including the Beyerdynamic DT880 Pro, DT990 Pro, AKG K702 65th Anniversary, and AKG K612 Pro. I'd have to say that while the HD650 has many competitors nowadays that it didn't have when it debuted in 2003; especially lower than its MSRP of USD 500, it nonetheless holds its own and still offers qualities that many of them do...” --bpandbass

Audio-Technica ATH-M50S

Audio-Technica ATH-M50S

“(Disclaimer: This review was written while considering the very low price-point of the M50, and what you can get for that amount of money. It does not mean the M50 can go up against the high-end headphones that cost several hundred to thousands of dollars. My main headphones are high-end headphones, and the M50 is only used while I'm doing tracking or traveling. I wouldn't use it as my everyday...” --Lunatique

Sennheiser HD 800 Headphones

“ REVIEW: Sennheiser HD 800Overview Reviewing a statement product is tough – especially one that was as highly anticipated as the HD800. There is already a huge buzz on head-fi about them, and many have already declared them the best dynamic headphone on the market. But most of these proclamations have been from owners, One potential difference between my listening to the HD800 and other...” --Skylab

Sennheiser HD-598

Sennheiser HD-598

“The Sennheiser HD-598 Open-Backed Headphone is a great value for how it's priced. Found mine used with only two hours use, and I must say that these babies are a joy to listed to for any most any genre of music.   Sound The sound of the 598 is warm and detailed, with light emphasis on the low mids and upper bass. I find it quite refreshing, especially after my last phones, the ATH-M50s...” --CallMeFishmael

Sennheiser Momentum

Sennheiser Momentum

“I will get my bias out of the way first: I really enjoy the sound of many Sennheisers, and in my opinion the Momentum Full Size is the best sounding portable I have tried, and the best all-round sounding consumer-targeted portable headphone on the market.    Appearance-wise the Momentum is, as I mentioned, an exquisite feeling headphone. It reminds me of that modernist British...” --bpandbass

“ So here's my first mini-review. Kinda late, but I like these so much that I had to write a review for them xD   Intro One of the reasons I bought the V-MODA M80 is because I wanted a portable headphone that has good SQ and yet has the ability to turn heads. Sennheiser HD 25-1 II Professional Headphone

“ The HD25-1 has been my favorite (trans)portable headphone for quite a few months. I spend a few nights a week away from my home rig and the HD25 works wonders with my iBasso D10 and netbook. Hi-fi on the go has never been so rugged and simple. Best of all is their sonic versatility – though my backup portables, the AKG K181Dj, excel with certain genres and recordings, the Sennheisers perform...” --ljokerl
