Little Dot MK III

The best tube amp on the market today at the best price

A review on: Little Dot MK III
Beztis

Pros: True tube sound, plenty tube rolling options, great price, great quality - Arguably the best OTL amp at the best price in the history of man kind.

Cons: None.

I have heard the littledot mkIV, and it pretty much sounded like any other solid state amp as well so i though eh, littledot is just another shammy company... but then I discovered the MKIII - and i ordered on the next day!! TRUE tube sound, warm, euphonic - FULL....i can list adjectives all day, but until you hear it for yourself, nothing I say can do it justice. You can also go get ripped...

iFi Micro-iCAN Headphone Amplifier, Special Edition

Pros: EASY to Use and has TONS of power in a very small form factor. Works a treat with even "amp-picky" headphones I've tried.

Cons: I want a POWER button. I just love power buttons easily letting me know if I've turned a component "OFF" or not before I leave the music room...

Espressivo-E by Feliks Audio

Pros: Fantastic value, multiple inputs, organic but not overly lush sound, powerful.

Cons: Stock tubes can actually sound a little harsh up top.

JDS Labs Assembled Objective2 Headphone Amplifier

“     Without referring to "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's" (A.K.A. NwAvGuy) blog, and speaking from my own listening experiences, I really do think the Objective 2 is a great headphone amplifier. No, I don't think this is the amp to end all amps, but it's a dang good one and it only cost me $156 USD (which includes the Triad brand WAU12-200 AC adaptor). In fact, it can be found...” --miceblue

“iFi iCAN (Standard and SE) Power in a small package.  << PREVIOUS REVIEW | REVIEW INDEX | NEXT REVIEW >>   GENERAL NOTES For those who have read some of my past reviews, you'll notice that I've changed up the format slightly.  Graphically, this new review format looks more appeasing to the eye, while writing wise, I find that it is more fluid and...” --thatonenoob

Matrix M-Stage

Matrix M-Stage

“The M-stage HPA-1 was purchased by me from an eBay seller about a year ago for $180 including a class A biased OPA627 op amp. The HPA-1 was the first generation in the M-stage series and have since then been followed by the HPA-2 and the quite recently released HPA-3. The HPA-1 was released back in 2010 but I still think that it offers enough interesting features to be worthy of a review in...” --peter123

Schiit Valhalla

Schiit Valhalla

“ I had been looking for an amplifier for my Sennheiser HD650 headphones and tried many amps that cost much more than the Valhalla over the last 6 or so years. It's almost like they designed this amplifier to bring out the best of this particular headphone. If you are also a 650 owner and have always thought that they are a bit "veiled" in the mids/highs, and like me have done the mods (foam,...” --HiFi1972

Schiit Asgard Headphone Amplifier

“I've been reading so many replies and reviews how the O2, Magni and Vali sound the same. After weeks of listening to all of them, (yes I have them all) they are all not exactly the same . I've been using the same music and all else in the system is the same and have only changed the amps. Started with O2, then went to Magni. Yes the Magni and O2 sound very close. The Magni...” --Hi-Fi'er

Apex High-Fi Audio Peak and Volcano

“ I actually decided to buy the Apex Peak/Volcano, I do not regret purchasing this amplifier even though a loaner program was available for sometime, although I don't know if it was still going on when I bought the amp.   For headphones I have the Audez'e LCD-2 and Ultrasone Edition 10.  I only used the ED10 very briefly as I actually prefer the sound of the LCD-2 to the ED10s. ...” --Wedge

“  Forewords First, a few words about me. I would consider myself a semi-audiophile, as I have written a few reviews in details, I understand audiophilespeak and I have gone through plenty of equipments searching for the most analogue sound possible.  For those who were looking for a structured review, this one won’t be like that. I already did a review for the LD I+ that way but...” --WilliamLeonhart

“ I'm going to keep this review brief and to the point. This amp is freakin' awesome for $250 and it has a high/low gain meaning it's capable with almost any type of headphone you can throw at it besides orthos. I use it with my DT880s and they sound way more fun and not boring like they used to. So ya, just buy this amp. There is no transformer hum and the noise floor is very low. So disregard...” --wahsmoh

iFi Micro-iCAN Headphone Amplifier, Special Edition

“It has been 3 years since my original review of iFi Audio’s original micro iUSB Power, iDAC and iCAN. Fantastic when they are first released and, in my opinion, still quite relevant after all these time (*with the testimony that they still form part of my PC audio chain), the competition has however certainly stiffen up a bit. In respond to the fast pace of the current digital audio gears...” --ClieOS
