I extended the Sony MDR-1R's earpieces for this photo, to show the attention to detail on these headphones, the extending parts of the headband with a nice brushed finish, and obviously meant to be seen.

The Sony MDR-1R with the two cables it comes with. One cable has a three-button inline mic/remote for use with iPhones/iPads/iPods (like other such mic/remotes, it also works with as a remote control with my various MacBook models). The other cable is a plain, audio-only cable. (Both cables terminate are terminated with a 3.5mm stereo mini plug.)

I turned the rig on its side to give a clearer shot of the Sony PHA-1's innovative rail system. The included silicone bands securely hook into the rails on each side of the PHA-1, obviating the need to wrap rubber bands or Velcro straps around your rig. Simple, ingenious.

Also in the photo: Apple iPod Classic 160GB.
