I got a latest RE board yesterday and let it burn-in overnight. As to sq, John has put it very well yet I have to add that this RE sounds much better than other RE boards I have heard, simply unbelievable in everything. After 24 hours...
There are two things Xin's still testing, including a 12000uf Panasonic FC cap. In the 2nd beta Xin's using a 15000uf Nichicon.
The 2nd RE sounded very soft, or you can put it as "tube-like" out of box. It's the opposite from what I expected. After one night's burn-in, it opened up a lot yet its soundtage was very wide without the depth as in Micro....
After a whole night's burn-in, RE is already a winner over Micro. IMHO, it has almost all virtues of Micro yet have an overall warmer, more tube-like, bigger, and more powerful presentation.
