Didn't realise things like that exist, it might fix the problem temporarily.  I decided not to send the phones in for warranty, too much hassle and cost as I'd have to send them to the UK from Finland. Came up with an idea to craft a wooden replacement for the plastic craptastic headband that snapped. I went with craptastic because after I disassembled the headband I saw how flimsy it in reality is, no wonder it broke. And the black spine it has embedded into it turned out...
Yeah, should have replaced it immediately, but meh, I guess I was too lazy to do it. :)
Hi guys, Late last year I posted the pics about cracking and was worried how long it'd be for them to break. I also posted a customer review on the PSB site about the phones, and PSB mailed me very quickly, that they'll replace the cracking issue phones saying that it's a production line problem that's supposedly fixed by then, so I suspect I either got a bum pair or more probably a pair from old stock(bought mine from amazon.co.uk). Anyhow, I didn't send mine to be...
Hi guys,        As many have had concerns of how these will endure, I decided to weigh in my experience with the M4U1's.     As we all know, they sound simply amazing, and the comfort isn't the best for every headshape(for me it's good enough), but the plastic frame has started showing signs of heavy wear in form of fracturing all along the headband, especially at the ends of it.    I've only had mine since end of august 2013, so easily under half a year of use,...
Okay, read a lot of reviews, opinions and specs of Asgard, Lyr and Valhalla and indeed I'm now favouring  the Asgard as a good stepping stone for now, looks like it's gonna be pretty nice for the cans. Thanks for the tip!
Oh I'd love a Woo Wa6, but it's bit out of my budget, sadly. Plus they don't seem to have a retailer in Europe which would kick the cost up even more in terms of customs. Bit out of ideas now then, I was thinking of Schiit Lyr as well, but apparently it's a hybrid tube/MOSFET amp, but is that a bad thing? Is it in between with sound of solid states and pure tube amps?
Hello,   I'm quite interested in the Schiit Valhalla, and thought it could be a good first tube amp experience for me. I just ordered a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50, and was wondering if the Valhalla is good for driving them as they recommend having 300-600ohm cans on the Schiit site, and the ATH-M50 is 32ohm?       Also if this is gonna work out just fine, could you guys recommend me some extra tubes to experiment with as well? I mainly listen to prog,...
Bought the official replacement cable myself, and after that discovered that the connections from the elements to the 2.5mm plug inside the headphones were foobar as well. Ah well, after buying some supplies I got to soldering and fixed the trusty old 570's! Pretty happy with them, although I prefer the clarity of my K601's over the much better base that 570's offer. Better might not be the right word for the difference in base though, but ah well Anyone wanting to...
Porcupine Tree - Fear of a blank planet
So, I read this review for the Zero headphone amp and the price was really nice, but the sheer size of the thread scared me away. So, I'm looking for an amp in the price range of 100-200USD for my new pair of AKG 601's, not looking to upgrade it in any way, I'm not really interested in that stuff, but I'd still like a decent sounding amp. I'd be mostly listening music with it if that makes any difference. So is the Zero amp easy to order and if so, where...
