So is the lack of response indicator of a lack of products in this range?  Maybe it will take a few more years...   I have two reasons for moving to bluetooth.  One, that cords are a PITA when walking around and phones are just too big to have a rigid plug protruding out further.  Secondly, either this or next generation of phones will do away with 3.5mm jacks.  They are simply too thick and take up too much space, and do not offer enough connectivity.
I am looking for a high end bluetooth IEM, but am struggling to find a pair with high marks on audio quality.  In the higher end market, I have run across a lot of Jabra and Jaybird models, as well as some recent introductions by Denon, JBL, and Klipsch.  However, when they mention audio quality in reviews, they all seem to say they sound good..."for bluetooth earbuds"...certainly not the most reassuring.  Are there any quality bluetooth, sound quality focused earbuds on...
My new apartment has bunch of rooftop amenities like a pool, bocce court, grill, yoga studio, etc.  They are great, but working out, hanging in the pool, and BBQing without music are a disappointment.  Surprisingly there are never many/any people up there so I do not feel bad broadcasting my music.  There are no outlets so I need a battery operated speaker that is easy to pack along with a few beers, some burgers, and a bocce set.  I am downtown, so I do not need super...
I have done some more trouble shooting.  I have unplugged all fans, all extra hard drives, DVD drive, removed every PCI/PCI-E card except 1 graphics card, cycled through every RAM configuration (3 sticks, 6 slots) and unplugged every non essential USB device.  I have 2 graphics cards in my computer to run 3 monitors and have tried it with each of them in different slots.  No matter what combination of essential hardware I try, the hissing/crackling is persistent. I would...
I have a pair of Adam A7x hooked up to my computer's Asus Xonar STX with RCA cables.  Out of one speaker's tweeter, I am getting a high pitched noise, even with no input signal.  It is particularly odd because the other speaker does not do this, even when I switch the RCA L/R cables.  I then switched the left and right speaker so that the power and signal were both changed, but the same tweeter still hissed. This originally made me think something was wrong with the high...
I am almost always on my main workstation while listening to music and, needless to say, its a beast with 7 fans and 6 hard drives whirling and buzzing about.  I am thinking of building a dedicated media PC to play ripped blurays and my music library so I can listen in piece when not working.  I am thinking I want to go all passive cooling if possible, but unfortunately I cannot afford enough SSDs for my media collections so I will have to use HDDs.  I will feed a pair...
I have beem using Etymotic Research ER4S for the past 4 years and have been very hAppy with the sound and isolation. So mush so that I would never consider getting on a flight without them. Unfortunately after about 50 flights this past year I finally managed to take them out for a minute and stuff them in the pocket an walk off the plane without them. As sad as I am about their loss (attendant "couldn't find them" 3 min after I walked off the plane and realized I left...
I just got a pair of HD600 for Christmas and have been thoroughly enjoying them, except for one little thing.  I have been noticing a tinny buzzy/crackly sound in my left ear.  I only notice it during quiet technical sections of old (1960's and earlier) recordings.  I have been listening to everything (classical, rock, movies...) trying to decide if it is a problem with my headphones or just due to the old recordings technology/conversion to modern digital formats....
I am starting the research for my upcoming build before I head off to college. In terms of audio, there are no cut and dry performance charts like there are for everything else, so here I am. I listen to music mostly though headphones, but I still want to retain the ability to output to a receiver. 99% of my music is stereo, so I am not too concerned about not having multi-channel capabilities as I can always just stick those few disks into my dvd player. Since I...
I am in a similar situation and currently torn between the er4(p/s) and the triple fi. While the er4(p/s) seems to get fairly consistent overall praise as the classical iem of choice, the triple fi is regarded as no slouch either. I use flac fed by my computer or cowon d2. Either way, my next purchase will likely be a dac/amp as I will be building a new pc and will need a sound card anyway, so i might as well double dip as I almost always listen to music through my...
