I called J&R and they would not budge from $225. J&R is most definitely not a straight up retailer, though. You can wheel and deal with them.   It's luck of the draw and I've called in again, but never got below $225.

Four years after this thread has started, my research suggest that the consensus is that the Sennheiser IE8 is #1, followed by the TripleFi10s, followed by the Shure SE530/535?
