I've owned it all (almost) and moved on to better speakers. But...it's nice to have a good set of headphones when circumstances dictate (e.g. sleeping girlfriend 12 feet away). The HD650 have thus far held the crown of sound quality...

No, I think reasonably low overall distortion must be a prerequisite to true HiFi, if we're going to use the term "HiFi" and not "audiophile". At some point, even euphonic distortion is going to obviously color and reduce the sound...

I think I bought/sold that headphone 3 times. Not quite a record, around here :) I can understand why someone would choose them as the final stop; nothing else has quite that crisp clean tonality without sounding even a little...

The SAME exact thing happened to the Headmaster I had, years ago (~2003/2004?). On mine, that metal shield was loosely taped-on (with electrical tape; sloppy), IIRC, and it must have popped out during shipping to me - causing the...
