So, as I mentioned in another thread, my Tributes crapped out on me and I got the Trumpets from the warranty. I have to say that I don't like it as much at the Tributes. I prefer the warmth and more-present bass in the Tributes. I listen mostly to 50's music and doo wop on my iPhone 4, and the files are mostly (shameful) sub 256 kbps MP3s :P  The Tributes were quite forgiving of bad recordings and low bitrates, and they really made the nonsensical vocals of doowop a...
I used to own a pair of Monster Miles Davis Tributes, but they broke down and were replaced with the Trumpets. I'm looking for an IEM that has a sound signature as close to the MD Tributes as possible: I really really loved the Tributes but don't want to shell out cash for them again knowing that they'll break down in 15 months of use.   I namely listen to 50's doo wop, so I'm looking for warm vocals and good bass that's forgiving with lower bitrate files/flawed...

For me, the wire wore down right at the point where the L-connector "shield" ends, i.e. where the blue cable starts, which leads to the left earbud cutting in and out and crackling. The first ones, I bought here and the guy never responded to my request for documentation of purchase, so I couldn't get a warranty replacement. I coughed up the major chunk of dough to buy...
