So, judging from you you could only buy an amp to the Ipod touch if you are to drive "bigger" headphones? I have AKG K701 and Sennheiser HD 600 as well but I don't plan to use those for this portable gear but only the Sennheiser Momentum. Isn't it possible to gain improvement in sound quality when you're using portable amps?
Funny how different we are when we review and have opinions on these matters. I had an ipod touch, 3 gen, for a while but I had to trash that because the home button didn't work anymore, etc, so I got this 5 gen. instead and the sound quality is much worse - tinny sound, the 3 had a meatier sound, more body to it. Now you can tweak it with Itunes which makes it acceptable I guess, but still these products don't get better with time, that's for sure. Ipod touch is probably...
Sennheiser Momentum.
Recently bought an Ipod touch, 5th generation, which might be a mistake because of the sound quality = not very good. However, I've seen much reviews in favor of this Mont Blanc amp so I figure on a purchase. In reviews I have seen people are using a line out cable such as Fiio L9 instead of using the audio cable in the package, so I would like to do that also, but apparantly I can't because I can't find any Fiio-cable that fits the 5th generation Ipod touch. They are made...
Let's see if Heed CanAmp will work for me. It's been in my possession now for 1 1/2 day and I must say that is appears to be a decent amp for HD 600. I have it to try out for two weeks so hopefully I'll be able to make an informed decision. The question is how long it will be before it begins to perform at its best. I've heard all kinds of assessments, 100 hours, 200 hours, or the seller himself who talked about 60 hours.
So this amp is a nice match for Sennheiser HD600? This business of deciding what amp to buy has been quite an ordeal. People shooting off different opinions, as for instance that the amp in question in fact IS NOT a good match with Sennheiser HD600. After trying out one second hand amp, Musical Fidelity X-Can V3, that sounded pretty decent as far as I could hear but had to be returned because of the fact that one of the tubes didn't function, I'm back at square one....
I will appreciate any reviews on this headphone amp, Vincent KHV-111 MkII. I can't find any anywhere so hopefully I can get some direct customers reviewing it.   My stereo: Hifi: NAD C320BEE, NAD C521BEE, Rega P3-24 + rega phono preamp, med Goldring 2300. NAD 6325, NAD AM/FM Stereo Tuner 4020A, Audio tronic CM3, QED Performance Audio Cable 1, Aragon 5055
I suppose it says it all. What I want to get are recommendations for a headphone amp, if possible the best amp and also some priceworthy ones. The headphone is Sennheiser HD600, which I am satisfied with, so the key is to find an amp that will play with these phones, as well as with my CD-player NAD 521BEE, and my turntable Rega P3-24. So I'm just hoping to get a clear idea what's what out of this thread. In order to make a balanced and successful purchase. As a sidenote...
