So, as suggested, I checked out this video....and at that time, I had my AKG Q701 on (just doing my random internet surfing, not getting into listening music).   Yeah, I see the Denons in the vid....but I couldn't help noticing that the music sounded off. As in "not right". So I plugged in my D600. NOW, this-is-what-I'm-talkin-about!  My D600 goes great with this kinda genre!
Nice! Hope you enjoy them! I'm kinda like you...my eyes must give the "thumbs up" before they go on(or in) my ears. I must say that my gold is currently my go-to iem.
Just my taste....I bought the D-600. The K550 were balanced, but it didn't offer something different, or special for me--sounded like another pair of good cans I already own. So both the AKG and the Senn's charlie875578 mentioned are respectable cans, but as for me, I already have balanced, or flat cans.... don't need another one.   D-600's are the most comfortable sets that I own. And I am starting to like the modern look as well. I think Denon put a lot of thought...
OK. So I've been burning in my D-600 for about 100 hrs. now. I must say, as of to date, these cans are becoming one of my favorite, fun, "go-to" headphones. I'm going to ignore the frequency graphs, and let my ears tell me if I like a can or not.   I'll be reaching for my Q701 when I feel like "studying" or analyzing what I'm hearing. But hey, when I want to enjoy my music...you know,  I'm talking about head-bobbing, grinning' from ear-to ear, or "I'm 50 yrs. old,...
Not that I have a lot of amp knowledge.... but  my Schiit Asgard goes really nice with my D600.
I tried both D600 & K550 at Best Buy's Magnolia room. No amp, of course. I was there only for a few minutes. I agree with Olegausany.   I bought the D600.   Now wait a minute. Let me add somethin'. I have, for awhile, put the K550 on my "gotta have soon" list. I'm one of those guys who hangs out at Best Buy, and try out their cans. I always wanted the K550. But the Denon had this deeper, luscious sound that I like.... I could not resist. (I really don't need another...
Just got the D600.   I don't know much about the Bose you're comparing to. What I can do is compare the Denon with my Pioneer HDJ-2000. And the D600 is brand new --not burned in yet...   I also like bass. Don't want to call myself a basshead, but come'on, you gotta have clear, punchy, AND deeeep bass....right? (I also have Q701 for music that doesn't require all that bass.)   The Pioneer is the so-called flagship in its DJ category, which means that it has...
Jason with Schiit just replied back. These are are FAST when it comes to getting back to you....   So, for me, looks like Asgard will do just fine. Just placed an order. Happy.   Muaaahh hah hah hah....
Replying back to Nirvana Woman,   What music do you listen to? ---mostly lounge/chill, all kinds of seventies stuff,   a little jazz & classical How often do you listen and for what purpose?--- I need 20-30 min. a day, to decompress and relax at night What DAC do you have?  ---I'm told my bithead has a built-in DAC, but what hiss? The ringing in my ears are louder... How do you feel about your other headphones? ---I really like my Pioneer & Turbine Gold, the...
Hi,   I'm a noob... And I would like to purchase one of these Schiits.  I have these headphones(+ 1 iem) listed below. Which will be likely the best for me?   AKG Q701 (62 ohms) Audio Technica ATH-ESW9A  (42 ohms) Pioneer HDJ-2000  (36 ohms) Monster Turbine Pro Gold (no idea, but it's iem...)   Q701 was my first respectable can. I used to sit and "study" the music. I was really impressed. But  nowadays, the Q is collecting dust. I finding out that  I...
