Anyone know where to get the best replacement foamies for my Shure E4Cs in Germany? Are Shures the best replacements, or should I go with another brand (Westones' foam tips... and if so, where?)? I just moved here and my foamies are looking pretty nasty so I need help! thx!
About the mini-cable (an exerpt from an email from Gary): "I used to include a black 6" cable and it was doing good for a long time. Then I think I must have received a bad shipment on the last order because many people said they were having connection issues with this cord. This didn't happen to everyone, I would say the rate was about 1 in 10. This was way too high for me to accept so I stopped ordering those cables and found a different one. The new cable is...
For those looking for a portable headphone amp that's pretty well-received by this community here, Gary sells his PA2V2s for $60, shipping included. After having read so many good things on this forum, I finally decided to bid on one (on Ebay they normally go for $70-$80 + another $5- shipping) but I read somwhere you can get them directly for $60- and it's true! He just emailed me back and indeed offers them for that price. Anyways, I just wanted to give a general...
I have used my SR80s as speakers while travelling. Also, last summer my wife and I were rollerblading and I just put them around my neck, my Iaudio M3 full blast, and we listened to it while doing circles around the park... pretty cool actually
wow- that was quick- thanks! I am sure it's the plug (I bent it 90 degress and since then it's been a loose contact. Since then I have used plyers to squeeze it this way and that to try to secure the connection but to no avail. so i'm worried i've destroyed the plug. I guess I trust the guy. From all I've heard, it's a pretty simple process right? Is there anything specific I should ask him to test the quality of his worksmanship? I live in Denmark right now...
The plug on my Grado's is broken and I found a local electric shop that'll replace it for a reasonable price (like 8 Euros/ $9). He showed me the new plug adapter he'll put on it and it looks like the cheapest of cheap. Does it matter?- plz, if you read this just post a response with your opinion cuz the shop opens in like 30 minutes and I want to get it done today. thanks!
That's funny- I also have the SR80s and it was with those that I rediscovered it yesterday... "just another sad old man, all alone and dying of cancer..." whatever, we're all in here because we enjoy our music. that being said i hadn't listened to Pink Floyd's "Animals" for like 2 years cuz I forgot to rip it before moving to Europe and I finally heard it again today... ahhhhh... very zen!
I'm gonna make one more comment and then put this baby to bed (at least personally): We all want to believe we are perfectly informed consumers and that we've made the most rational choice between the alternatives, having weighed the pros and cons of each one. "If you make a superior product then it will sell"... sorry but even if that kind of scenario is more likely on a forum like this, if you don't acknowledge the importance of marketing (even "buzz" markeing,...
