Good isolation is a must for me, so I can't go with the IE8. Also why are you saying I should be looking at positioning and imagine instead of a big soundstage?
Needs (must-haves): - Volume, pause, and track skip controls - Very good isolation - Low microphonics/cable noise Wants (not must-haves, just preferences): - Very big soundstage.. looking for that epic feeling when you feel completely surrounded by the music       which seems to be 'dancing' around you - Sounds NOT flat, distant, hollow, or muffled - Very clear with good detail - Sound signature that compliments alternative music (think My Morning Jacket,...
I'm still having trouble finding something... Any other advice?
The only high-end IEM I've owned are the Monster Coppers, which I feel pretty underwhelmed with since I was expecting a much bigger Wow-factor after reading all the hype about high-end IEMs. I want my music to wow me and I want my favorite songs to sound as if I've never truly heard them before. What I'm looking for most, in order of preference: Isolation (I will be listening to them in a Casino poker room) Soundstage (I want it very 3-d & large, but HATE for my...
I have tried a few IEMs that were said to have decent soundstages, but when I listened to them in crowded areas (in a casino, specifically) they sounded distant or muffled and made me feel as if I was not "in" the music. Songs sounded better on my stock CAR stereo because they seemed to put me right in the middle of the sounds, making them feel highly immersive. It is hard for me to describe sound, so I'll use the terms defined in this...
I am new to high-end IEMs and have previously just used a stock car stereo or cheapo earbuds for music listening on-the-go. I've been using the Multi-IEM Review here to try and get an idea of what I want, but it has just made me realize that I don't really know what I want. The guide speaks in terms using words such as analytical, dynamic, cloured, liquid, transparent, etc which I know the definitions of but still cannot identify with since I have no experience. For...
I just received one of these and decided I want a good pair of IEMs to upgrade my sound quality. This led me to head-fi forums and to the fact that an Ipod Nano 5th Gen isnt as good as a Sansa for sound quality. But really, how different will it be? Day vs night, or much more subtle? Facts: I will use my player for on-the-go playback without any amp. I'll be using a pair of IEMs around the $200-$300 price range. Returning the ipod will be kind of a pain and I...
