Yea, It seems like you are just the kind of person I was thinking you might actually be, hah...
Uh, that super-advanced santa cruz aureal stuff only works on windows 98, I think... with a very very few games... for the full A3D stuff, I mean.  I don't think it works with windows 2000, xp, etc. etc.
So recently, I dug my old Turtle Beach Santa Cruz out of my ancient computer, to replace the onboard sound of my current gaming rig, which was... eh, okay, but I could hear the noises when it was thinking and accessing the hard drive and such..   So, in this computer, the Santa Cruz sounds good, but for some reason it gets kinda clicky when I am multitasking, which is really weird, cause it didn't do that on the Pentium III.  Probably some incompatibility with old...
...What do I do? They both seem to have 'motor' issues.  I've mostly switched to a Clip+, but I *like* the idea of being able to play a CD once in a while...   Is there any portable/totable with short battery cd player that I could find? Any way to repair these?  What is the best CD player of the moment?  I know, I know... old tech... but dammit, I like CDs!
Hi all, what's a solid computer mic (1/8" plug) for a computer, to use with my headphones? Ideally to clip onto my shirt or to the wire of my headphones? I'm really looking for something more inexpensive and non-sucky.  What are some solid models? Thanks!
Bose is good at one thing in headphones -- active noise cancellation.  If you want sound quality, or one of the more fruitful ways of doing sound cancellation (ie passive like earplug style headphones can get -- seriously, canalphones blow the bose out of the water in isolation, value, sound quality), then you need to go away from ANC and Bose entirely.  But if for some reason you can't use canalphones, have money to burn, aren't too much of a stickler in sound quality,...
Laptops don't have subwoofers.  They don't even have woofers.  Anything that says there is a woofer or subwoofer in a laptop case is a complete lie.  Yes, the designers of the laptop are lying to you.   What you probably have is two twiddlers (tweeter/midranges, with the worst aspects of both) and maybe a single midrange for lower volume in the laptop, at best.   So -- what you need is a quality external/usb sound card / headphone amp, to shoehorn as much of the...
I sometimes wear my 770 pro 80's for hours and hours and hours and completely forget they are on.  They are really, really, really, really comfortable for me...
Hmmm, that's really weird, cause my other thread I posted had those suggested like three times. ACK!  So, hmmm, I need a place in Lexington, KY or Cincinnati, OH to demo as many of these as possible...
Sorry, I started a thread before realizing that this was here.   I would like <$100 if possible, <$150 at a stretch, big sounding, open headphones focused like a laser at being Really Good at female vocals, for a variety of low powered sources.  Genres are Singer-Songwriter, Opera, Folk, Jazz, etc.  Budget is after shipping to lower 48. Used is fine.  Budget is for 'after shipping'.   A quick search turns up these options:   Alessandro MS-1 Audio Technica...
