Hi all   The headphone-nirvana... a very good term and a very good question. To me it is the Audeze LCD-3 with my Malvalve headamp three powered by an PS Audio PWD dac.   From my point of view it is simply a matter of taste and listing preferences where the "nirvana-factor" begins. Being a HiFi/High End fan for about 30 years i heard a lot of fine audio gear over the years. But the improvements especially in headphones are really significant. Coming from some...
Hi After a few more days (an nights with too little sleep) it is getting better and better. Many albums, even the ones that are not perfectly recorded and mixed, are sounding so good that it is pure fun to listen. Really addictive, so to say. @ Rumble Thank you ;-) - The Stax SR 009 with with the new Cavalli is nothing less than a dream of a combination in my book. Do you intend to keep both, the LCD-3 setup and the SR 009 or will you choose "your" best ? @sydneyaudio I...
Hi all   After my recent adventure with the Red Wine Audio Audeze Edition DAC/KHV witch was not the "right one" for me, i have to praise Mr. Rossi from Red Wine Audio. He was really polite and understanding and offered me another unit in exchange without any costs...after i respectfully declines that offer he sent me my money back. Nice customer service !!!   After i read a lot of the new Auralic KHV/DAC Combi, i drove from Hamburg to Essen (in Germay) what is...

Hi all   @maxvla I currently own a Lehmann BCL in combination with a Cambridge Audio DacMagic. That is the combination to beat. I heard the Violectric V200 and it was on the same level than my Lehmann Audio BCL. The Violectric sounds a little warmer but the difference to my BCL was small. I do in fact prefer the more neutral sound of the BCL.   So i really hope that the Red Wine will stand out compared to my combo. But the combination of Amp/DAC is not necessary to me, i...
Hi all   Thx for your comments. And some liked the Red Wine Audio...and some not that much.   The most "good" reviews are on the Cavalli Liquid Fire and i would have bought him right away but there are 2 drawbacks for me:   1. First of all, and that seems to be just a little thing,  are the bright LED's. I once had a USB hub with 5 really bright green ones and they bothered me so much that i couldn't stand it. The amp will rest just 2 feet away on my desk...
Hi all   This is my first post in this forum, but i am reading here for quite a while. And i want to thank the community for all the great reviews and tips.   I am enjoying my Audeze LCD-3 since january and i am very pleased with it. It is the best headphone i have ever heard. But as always in our hobby, the better your rig gets the more you want. That in mind i want a new headphone amp.   The usual suspects to me were: The Dark Star Cavalli Audio Liquid...
