Made prototype earpads, but have one main bug to work out. Earpads are comfortable (more than stock), but materials I used for earpads doesn't let the earpads stick to the phones. I'll figure it out

Koss changed the drivers for the 4aaa's toward the end of their run. Not sure of the ohm, but the black 4aaa are more easily driven than the tan 4aaa.
Right side earcup removal: Left side, a bit trickier to remove. I used a very thin plastic card to help 'pry' the cup off:
