some might say that the IPS screen alone is worth the trade, although I would have to agree that you are taking an impact in the computing power department.
personally I wouldn't have done it, and would rather stick with the T61.

I think the D1 on the board would indicate that it's diode rather than a resistor. Do you have a DMM? If so you can just check to see if it is infact a resistor by checking the resistance.
