Hi AstralStorm, I admit that Phiaton PS200 lacks a bit of bass detail. They sound more natural (apart from EX1000) than other earphones I have used. If you get a chance I recommend you to try PS200 with tx-100 foam tips and let me know how you feel.

Sony EX1000: Musical, good sub-bass, highs are not extended as TF10s. Sound is more natural from these earphones. Definitely recommend these.  Phiaton PS200 (with TX100 foam tips): Very similar to TF10s with less emphasis on base but sounds more interesting and nice soundstage. Comparing both I prefer PS200 than TF10s (IMO). Again bass might be lean for some listeners. Sounds harsh without TX100 tips. Try it.
Can someone compare RE272 with Phiaton PS200 ?   I like my PS200 (with TX100 foam tips) for its excellent highs, warm mids and beautiful soundstage. TX100 tips reduce harshness of treble in these earphones with some recordings. I even like more than my Triplefi10's, Pro Coppers with some songs. It sounds pleasant to me. Bass feels sufficient to my taste. Definitely I recommend to anyone who likes sparkling treble with good mids and bass.
I will get my W4's this friday...very excited. Purchased from "The e^Basement" thru Amazon.com for $334.95
From my experience and IMO there is difference in sound between K702 and Q701 when unamped. Q701's slight emphasis on bass gives you sound more body (to a small extent). I heard both and kept Q701's (see my avatar). Whatever earphones (Turbine pro, TripleFi10, PS200) I hear all day, coming back home when I hear these I will have a smile on my face...clear sound. Only gripe could be sometimes sound can be too distant instead of that intimate feel you get from...
Phiaton PS200 earphones: Pros: Sparkling highs, excellent mids, good bass and beautiful soundstage Cons: too much highs (for some) especially at high volumes Recommendations: TX100 Comply foam tips (MUST), wear over-the-ear Avoid: Too high volumes, default tips Out of the box they sound a bit harsh, but we can feel its pleasant soundstage. After 20 hrs of burn-in (driver) harshness reduced significantly but it bothered in quite a few recordings. Before returning...
Out of the box they sound a bit harsh, but we can feel its pleasant soundstage. After 20 hrs of burn-in (driver) harshness reduced significantly but it bothered in quite a few recordings. Before returning them back I want to try them with Comply foam Tx100 tips which might increase the base and reduce high peaks to certain extent. Once I replaced with comply TX100 foam tips these headphones began to SING...REALLY TRUST ME. Typical sonic character: decent bass, excellent...
Q701 is an definitely different from K702. With Q701 you can hear a bit more bass, less analytical and more coherent & musical sound.
