I do think it's possible to develop the technology of these headphones further which would hopefully result in "improvements".  Now whether it's a cost effective thing to do which would result in competitively priced...

I'd say of course there is, but only to a point.  Perfection or the perfect can, despite the name, is in the eye of the beholder.  I guess, it's a misnomer by construct, but the fact that there really isn't a universal...

Nope.  The closest you can get are clinical vs. musical and it's really not what you're looking for.

If you're talking a vacuum tube, that varies based on how hard the tube is run.
