Sorry, by M1 I did mean the brainwavz.    Thanks for the input. I had been leaning towards the M5 but had concerns that it wouldn't be what I was looking for.   I'm thinking about getting both the M2 for general use and the FX3X for the gym.... I just don't know if I want to shell out 100 bucks on two IEMs. So I might end up just getting the M2's.    Thanks for the help and if anyone else wants to chime in I'll check back a couple times before I make a decision
Hi All,   I'm driving myself crazy the last few days reading reviews and other links on the forums about each of these IEMS but I'm just getting myself more turned around.   I had a set of M1's that I liked a lot but had an unfortunate run in with the washing machine, so I'm currently using my backup set which is Sennheiser 475.  I'm not a big fan of these Sennheisers so I'm in a hurry to replace my M1's.    I'm looking for something with good sound...
Sorry* typo on the graphics card... I realize it won't impact my surround sound!  My monitor is flicking and I might have to replace the graphics card so I've got that on the brain.   I have an Asus P5Q Pro motherboard.   I think I'm set now, I'm ready to pull the trigger on Audio Technica's closed version and a Xonar DG sound card unless you think the sound card isn't worth it with the onboard sound I've got.
One more questions - if you go with a lower end graphics card to you sacrafice virtual surround sound in the headphones?  They are still listed as 5.1 cards but I'm not sure how well they project to headphones?
Thanks I really appreciate the reply.  I've got closed headphones now (Creative Fatality... (cheapos but they were well reviewed on Newegg when I got them).  It looks like I'll be going for the closed set and sacrifice some of the positioning.  I wouldn't be horribly opposed to moving my set up, but then I wouldn't see my fiance on most days!   From what I was reading, the A700 doesn't benefit that much from an amp, so I don't know that this feature of the STX...
Hi everyone,   I appreciate all the feed back - as well as the sympathy for a significant other with cat like hearing.....  I've been slogging through MLE's thread (111+ Pages!)  and it's slow going.  I've seen a bunch of recommendations for the Beyers, but they should be better since they are twice the price of the Audio Technica's....  (You can get them new on Ebay for a similar price but I'm not sure I trust that, whether I'd have warranty support, ect..)  I'm...
Thank you for the fast responses ----- fastest forum I've ever seen...  Any thoughts on about how far away you have to be to hear the AD700's?  You mentioned your wife can't hear it at 10 feet away... mine is closer to 5 feet away and has the hearing of a bat.
Hello,   I'm looking for a set of gaming headphones and currently leaning towards the Ad 700s with a Asus Xonar Essence STX sound card. I've read a lot about the AD's "leaking sound" compared to the ATH's due to their open configuration.   My question is how much sound gets out?  I'd like the better sound stage with the AD's but if it's going to result in my Fiance constantly asking me to turn down my gaming volume because she can hear the gunshots it's...
