Great deal, I would've bought these instead of getting the one day $85 deal on the X10's.......Might have to get them anyways as I had them before and with the 1 time replacement warranty it's hard to pass up for a bass head like me. I'm a previous owner of the MTPG and while I was planning on getting the Coppers as an upgrade, the Gold's were no slouch.    EDIT - Ok, I'm convinced this is a mistake at this price - I grabbed a pair after confirming that Amazon is a still...
They appear to be new and not refurbs which is surprising at that price - a great deal.
Tempting...I bought the refurbished Turbine Pros for $50 through Monster's outlet site and they held up for a bit but the plug just went sour on mine after about 5 months of heavy daily use. In comparison, I had a brand new pair of Pro Golds last about a year and a half after the same heavy treatment. So my only suggestion is to consider that if you get a refurb, you could be getting one with a fair amount of wear already on the plug, assuming they don't put new plugs...
Yes, they instructed me to return the defective ones along with a copy of my original receipt to confirm mine were real and from an authorized dealer. I kept all of the accessories and buds. Monster emailed me when they received my set and then again when they shipped the replacements which I just received yesterday.
I'm looking to get a new pair of Coppers with Control Talk. What's the best price going on these? I see $349 at Amazon and they are now  listed as an Authorized Dealer on the Monster site, which was not the case a year and a half ago when I bought the Golds through One Call (which is no longer Authorized).   On a side note, I called Monster regarding my Golds losing sound in one ear and Monster promptly responded and they are sending me a new pair as advertised....
I have the Turbines and the Turbine Pro Golds. The only tips that give me thumping bass are the regular hollowed out tips (not the foam or gel super tips). When you take them out of your ear, their should be a slight suction pull (the first couple of times I thought the pressure might be damaging to my eardrum so I'm careful to slowly twist when I take them out now) - If you don't have this, then it would explain your lack of bass. Your ears may just not be a good match...
@OP: I started using my HTC Droid Incredible but found that they were slightly lacking in power to drive the Golds. Bass was decent, but lacking the impact I heard using my home stereo. I spent some time at the Apple store and found that the Nano(6G), the iPod Touch(4G) and the iPhone 4(Verizon) all powered the Golds very well. Today I bought a Sansa Clip + and it does the trick as well.   I'm very happy my new Golds (and first $200 IEM) over the last few days. I...
Went to Costco (in Inglewood, CA) expecting to pay $55 for the 8gb Sansa Clip + but there was an instant $10 off rebate so with tax it all came out to just over $50. I think the rebate ends in 2-3 weeks. (If you want one shipped you can get the same price on Amazon, but I didn't want to wait).
I am very curious to see how the Golds stack up after having read so many threads on the pros and cons of the Turbine line. The regular Turbines I just bought refurbished for $50 are really growing on me. I've been using a Sony IEM for the last few months and it's hard to go back after a few days with the Turbines. Unfortunately, I do most of my music listening on the go with my phone. Hopefully more mid and top tier IEMs will be available with a mic and a control button...
Just ordered the Golds with Controltalk for $219 shipped from onecall. Looking forward to comparing them to the regular Turbines which sound pretty decent to this bass head - I just wanted more significant bass impact. I was planning on going for the Coppers but wanted to make sure I was getting the most balanced bass heavy iem with controls and a mic and they need to stand up to heavy daily use. I avoided open box because Monster doesn't honor their awesome warranty...
