Is it the shallow cups or the clamping force? For me, the initial clamping force was too much for my head size, but after I pulled the cups apart and stretched the headband, these instantly became one of the most comfortable headphones I've worn.   If your problem is the former, you can try stuffing the cups with rolled tissue papers to raise the earpads.   And yes... the bass is so amazing I cream myself sometimes.
After about 48 hours of burn in, the highs did calm down for me, but the FA-011s are still distinctively V shaped.  I found these headphones especially good with gaming. I've been playing L4D2 with some old college classmates and I can't believe the sound stage and the direction of gunfire, squeals, groans, screams, etc. I've never been able to before, but now I can really hear the Boomer on my 3 o'clock =O. Certain guns are higher pitched and after a couple hundred...
Sorry for the large pictures! I took an extra long lunch today to pick them up from the post office. The package was so light. I thought Dmitry had to exclude the extension cable and 1/4" adapter to meet the weight limit? They came as needed.   First thing I inspected were the cups. This is where the ~$130 some price tag really sunk in. I have 2 imperfections (one shown) on my left cup, and small identations & little holes on my right. I think you'll be lucky...
I ordered mine on 3/25, got shipping notice on 4/2. Never received a tracking number and just came home to a missed delivery notice from USPS. I am located in California.   Will have to wait until tomorrow to pick it up, but I am expecting this thread to blow up this week.
A family member's box of shoes via USPS was stolen off our front door today (I live a block away from a local elementary school, so there's a lot of activity on my street every weekday). My mom thinks the USPS guy stole it himself  .   Does anyone know if Dmitri will give us a tracking number? I'll have that page open and refresh it every hour @ work. My FA-011s can not fall in the wrong hands. Who knows what evil they will subject my woodies to...
Definitely not the most enthusiastic review of the FA-011s, and they kept on ragging about the brown box lol. On page 6, I think they're talking about LLF's review : "At the head-FAE is a review. In addition, he lit on the home page ."   I'm also worried about the overemphasized treble. If the highs are any harsher than my SR225is, the FA-011s would make for a bad listening experience. That said, I'm excited to see mods for this $118 USD set of cans =O. Still can't...
I know some of you guys are waiting for your pair of FA-011s to come. Here are images of an unboxing I found on a Russian forum: http://doctorhead.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7479&start=75   For those who just want the direct links:   The box: http://www.doctorhead.ru/forum/gallery/image.php?image_id=1422 Unboxing: http://www.doctorhead.ru/forum/gallery/image.php?image_id=1423 Side:http://www.doctorhead.ru/forum/gallery/image.php?image_id=1428 Top:...
With open cans you run into these two problems:   1) Your sound will leak due to the can's open design--people will hear you play Bieber, or whatever embarrassing music you listen to. 2) You will look like an alien.   If #2 doesn't discourage you from taking it outside the home, then #1 shouldn't stop you. I do it sometimes... just at moderate volumes.
Came back in stock about 2 hours ago.. ordered a pair. Cheers!
LFF, thanks for the sweet review of these Russian cans!   I've been a Grado fan, but have found its highs to be too harsh for the ears. Where do you rank the FA-011s if the SR-225is are a 9/10 on the harshness scale?
