Hi X Very interesting read. I assume that you are reviewing the WA2 with the uprated power supply and not your previous WA2. Have you noticed any difference between the two? I am really looking forward to your reviews on the WA2/HD800. Regards M

I also noticed a noise on my WA2, but I must point out I can only hear it if I use my IEM's. With my other phones it is dead quite. Below is the question I posed to Jack and his response. Question: "The WA2 seems to have a relatively high noise floor. When I listen to the headphones with no sound input at any of the jacks and the volume from the 9 o'clock position and up I can hear a few distinct noises, namely a hiss (that increases as you increase the volume), a...

I could never get to enjoying the 840C's sound; so perhaps this may be something you are hearing given the 800's neutrality and ability to portray a sound true to the source?...

The two tubes can be used interchangeably, but the T-S 5998 sounds much better than the GE 5998A, IMHO. The 5998A I have are straight bottles so I assume they are the GE 5998A. I have not tried any other tubes but I am waiting for a...

I bought the WA2 second hand and I have more than 100 hrs on them so I don't think the WA2 is an issue. I hope you are right...

Please note that I do not have much experience with headphones and headphone amps so I cannot say I speak with any authority on this matter. My impression of the combination is that the WA2 and HD800 may not be a great match. The reason I say this is that when I compare the headphone output on my Yamaha...
Hi Does anyone have any impressions of the HD 800 with the Woo WA2. Would one say that the WA2 is: 1) inadequate to show off the true qualities of the HD 800; 2) adequate to drive the HD 800, but could be substantially bettered; 3) a good match that will require a significant upgrade to substantially improve on the sound quality of the HD 800 ? Any considered responses will be appreciated. Regards
