Actually, I can put up with spending another $400 bucks. We will have to see.    Really gotta hear the UERM and see how it performs on the low end, and hear if the treble is like what Joe have said, a bit sharper than it should. Then again, I can't help but think that Joe has preference towards darker and bassier sound. He likes the SM3 a lot, while I didn't really like it.
Sadly, I don't have a reference IEM. I guess what I want is top notch comfort. Comfort beyond comfort. And an IEM that sounds like Stax, a window to music.    Regarding the Canal Works CIEM, actually the resistor is part of the circuit. You can clearly see the connectors: http://canalworks.jp/products/monitor_cw-l51.html. This seems like a blog of Canal Works, and you can see a bunch of resistors that can be...
The resistor will have to be pretty well matched. Well, actually they wouldn't shift the crossover point that much. From experience though, discrete resistors don't match very well, unless you match them by hand.
Hehe, what drink is that? I don't usually drink alcoholic drinks    For me, I think if it's above 1k, it would make more sense to get CIEM, with the exception of a few IEMs from Japan, namely some of the ones from Fitear or FAD.   Meanwhile, I will also wait a bit and see what ardgedee will have to say about his NT-6, when he gets it.
I most probably won't get the K3003, since at that price I should just go for a CIEM. Although I don't let people's opinion judge what I like, in this case I trust what Purrin have said about the K3003. Joker also mentioned it somewhat. The K3003 have some coherence issue, according to them. Coherence matters a lot for me.   Also, I'm going to move back to US after I move back to M'sia. If I get CIEM, it has to be done in less than 2 months. I definitely need to put the...
The specs for the op amp, if anyone is interested: http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/2036679-ic-opamp-audio-dual-8-emp-muses8820e.html   By far, one of the lowest noise figure I have seen on op amp. 4.5nV per root Hz at 1kHz. So if we know how much gain they are putting on the op amp, we can potentially calculate the noise of the op amp.   I feel like getting the FAD Heaven C, and go with the 1964Ears Quad or UERM. Or just get the Hidition NT-6. Problem is, even...
Perhaps because he is OEM'ing it, so it's more expensive? In that case, why not just buy from Amazon Japan, and use something like Tenso to forward it here?   I would have gotten one, but unfortunately I don't have iPhone, only an iPod Touch....
Hmm...for the definition, see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mamak_stall. Mamak can be a restaurant too, doesn't have to be just roadside vendor. Actually what I miss is the roadside food in my small hometown. My hometown is popular for the otak-otak, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otak-otak. It's a kind of spicy fish cake, wrapped and grilled in banana leaves. Best otak-otak in the world comes from my hometown    Usually the food at overseas isn't as good as...
What mamak do you mean?   Oh, how I miss the mamak stall food in Malaysia.
Yep, definitely look like the VentureCraft Go-DAP. It's a shame that these are made to work only with the iPhone 3/4, but not the iPod Touch....
