- Date of Birth:
- January 14, 1976
- Age:
- 32
- Biography:
- I was a kickass skater back in the day. Now I'm a kickass Tennis player. How's that for maturation?
- Location:
- Okie
- Headphone Inventory:
- Home: Grado RS-1
Road: Sennheiser PX100, Sony AV710
Gym: Koss KSC 22
Past: AKG K181 DJ, K24p, K240S, Allesandro MS-2, Beyerdynamic DT770pro, Grado 325i, Sennheiser HD650, Sony CD3000, SA5000
- Headphone Amp Inventory:
- A receiver, seriously.
Past: Earmax Pro, Gilmore Lite, Ray Samuels SR-71
If you're new to the hobby and reading this, I have one piece of advice. The amp section contains almost as much placebo as the cable section. They generally improve the sound but not as much as implied. Spend your money wisely, unless peer approval is something you strive for.
- Source Inventory:
- Denon 3910 for DVD-A, HDCD, SACD>Denon Link>Denon 4306
PC for Redbook (rippedr EAC, Lame MP3V0 encoded> AV710>Audioquest Optilink-A(TOSlink)>Denon 4306)
A well recordered/mastered album is worth ten fold more than any headphone, source, or speaker.
- Cable Inventory:
- Bunches, bought them all for looks. Seriously.
- Power-Related Components:
- Nada. Next one I buy will have flashing lights and a can opener. That would triple, perhaps quadruple its worth.
- Other Audio Equipment:
- Speakers 2Ch:
Denon 3910/Chaintech av710>Denon Link/Audioquest Optilink-A(TOSlink)> Denon 4306>Audiquest Type 4 Star Quad(banana plugged)>Dynaudio Audience 42
7.1Ch:
" "/Toshiba HDXA1>Audioquest Alpha Snake/Adudioquest Optilink-1 (TOSlink)>Denon 4306>Audioquest G-Snake>Adcom GFA-7607>Audioquest X4(bananna plugged)>B&W CM7(F/L,) CM Centre(C), CM1(SR,SL,SBR,SBL), ASW650(LFE)
All things equal, I enjoy speakers more than headphones. Both have their place though.
- Tweaks:
- I like to apply room correction via equalization and use various - cheap, home made - diffusion, absorption panels.
- Music Preferences:
- See the last.fm link in my sig.
- Interests (non-headphone):
- Painting, Tennis, Running, Working Out, Watching Sports, and the usual American media stuff.
