340 was not designed to work with any portable amp no matter who made that amp.
P-51 can drive those phones to a good litenning level but you can't push it more as it will clip.

Hi.
I have one of your Mustangs and am using it with an IE8 and a SR225. I have also an AKG 340 which has not been used for quite a long time as it was extremely difficult to be driven properly. I would like to try it with the Mustang. My question: What gain should I set the Mustang to please? The AKG 340 has an impedance of 400 ohms.

Hey Ray,
It will take me a looooooong time to save up the money but had a question for you if you dont mind. I have recently bought a Grado SR80 from Headroom and love the "Grado sound". I plan to upgrade straight to the top of their line, (RS1 or 2, 325i) and would love a good tube amp to go with them. Particularly your Raptor. If you have tried a decent pair of Grados on the raptor could you comment on the synergy. I would be using a Macbook Pro as a source using the Headroom Micro DAC and Cablepro hi-end interconnects. I also have the HD650s with the Cardas Cable. Hope to be a customer soon.
