Hello Sir, I did a search and your post came up. Can you Please help me with a question. I am new at this audio stuff, My profession is a professional photographer. I like tech. but I am going through a learning curve with this new audio hobby. I just bought a pair of Denon AH-2000 head phones to listen to music through my Imac and portable mp3 player. My head phones are rated at 25 ohms. My question. Do I need a Dac, such as the firestone fireye II, my imac is new and has a High Definition, 8 , 32 bit - 192/khz sampling rate, and -85 Harmonic distortion. Will i benifit form the Fireye II or any other dac/headphone amp. Thank you for your help. I have done as much reasearch as I can on the internet and the most information i have found is the statistics. So far the stats on my computers sound card seem higher than most dac i have seen or have been mentioned on sites like this - compact portable dac/amps that is.
