Hi man, I'm actually still waiting for my Shures - I won them at the Canjam raffle and they will be sending me them in a couple of weeks - I will post a full review and comparo when I get them!
I don't know, I just used all my life savings and borrowed from the bank. Maybe $200 000, $50 000 have been lost into experimenting (damaged). But now I have sold most of my gear and use a system for 1/10th of the price and I get better sound. I have sold dCS sources, 4 Genesis power cables, Genesis XLR interconnects, many PS Audio power conditioners, Cary 303/300, Krell amp, Nordost power cables, speaker cables, interconnects, digital cables. I don't need Nordost cables when I use a cheap RCA male to male adapter! Costs $3 and sounds better than $3000 Valhalla.
I am using the tweaks Magix levitation feet, RGC-24 Ground Conditioners, ERS Paper, Valhalla Dual Filament headphone cable, RTP-4 power strip. I also use Judge power cable but the price of the system doubles with the Judge. I have tried laptop battery power and it gives a better bang for buck. However, since the EMU0404 USB source needs AC power, I plug my laptop into the same shared Judge power cable.
