They will open up after some 50 hours, however I never burned them or any headphone ever. Not that I am not believe in such thing, I do, but just what I dont do.
I use it with Go-Vibe Petite DAC version and quite happy with the combo, but some may prefer neutral amp instead, just check at portable amps section. PETITE is on warmer side, with good bass and seems do the best with Grado's, not GS1000 included.

I really like PETITE using through his DAC with KSC75, great sounding combo.

How long did you have to burn your ATH-ES7 for?
Do you use any amp with it? Does it help improving the SQ much?
