Hey big guy, how are you? I wrote you a "friendship" message the other day, but nada came back. Are we still buds, bud?

Well, there's one major thing to consider about the 307A vs. BHSE. Unless you have an R10, Qualia, PS-1, HP-2, L3000 or other top, top headphones, I think you should wait for the BHSE. The O2 blows to sh/t every headphone I've ever heard, even under-amped. So either spend big bucks on a top dynamic, or wait for the BHSE. That's my 2c.

I am so going to try to go to LA! Stephen, my son, who's just a couple 'o years old than you, lives in Hollywood and Lauren, my daughter who I've told you a little about, lives in the Bay to it would be nice to go home. Will you be there...

Wow you'll have to tell me about the Stax...

Now back to my TTVJ and the Blue Hawaii perfection. You see even though I have it "Staxed" up toward the 307A, you know as soon as a lean too far in that direction I start freaking out and crying the Blues... the Blue, Blue Hawaii Blues...and the you say how great the BHSE is and I'm going "Barry just hold on a year, you can wait 'till your 97 to get this great amp, I mean worst case you can leave it to Stephen and he'll enjoy it and he and Aaron can post and reminise (I have a spelling disorder. I have post grad degrees, was a mental health and creative director for years but I can not spell. So now that we are true friends I must just let this out direct and stop trying to cover it up.) So really though Aaron, even with all the potential of the BHSE, didn't my reasoning make sense in my first communication to you. FOR MY SPECIFIC PURPOSESs do you think the 307A makes most sense for me or...does the Justin Genius sound all that much more refined (again for what I'm listening to) that it's really worth the wait?
And what did you think of the look/asthetic of the 307A? Was it really "ugly" or more a throwback/old school look? Does it look solid and well constructed?

Also, on a personal note, do you travel much? I now live in the "Promise Land of the Origin of American Music." I originally rejected full out the thought of moving here. I love it. There is more to be said about this place I live but first we must be clear and complete about the task at hand.

Yea, I like getting messages, too!

    Now, down to audio bizzzness...

I heard the PS-1 and Qualia through the TTVJ amp. The PS-1 bass was this monstrous, searing wall of sound. It was a tad much for my tastes, but that's just the headphone. The Qualia sounded quite amazing through the amp. I did not spend too much time with it, but let's say that you can tell the amp was doing its job. I think praise of it is pretty much unanimous in these parts.

And yes, it received the AD2000, which simply incredible. It's got that forward midrange, and the sound is rawer than the HD650. But I like it very much because it sounds amazing through the Pico. I can only imagine how it would sound through the TTVJ...

As for BHSE/Stax news, I decided to get a Stax SRS-3050A (SR-303 + SRM-323A) system from Japan (bargain price of $877 shipped!), just to hold me over. I really would prefer to not wait a year for the BHSE, but if I have to, that's fine I have given Justin my desired options, so we're pretty much almost at the point of no return. When you are dealing with perfectionists, this is what happens. This is a very special amp, so the wait will be worth it. Trust me, I saw him in action at the meet, and it is very clear that he is trying to make this product perfect.

And no, you don't need a DAC with that CDP, but I can't speak for its quality.

    Good luck!
    -Aaron
