From that picture, it seems routing the cord over-the-ear will be the only reasonable way of wearing this -- which is a shame for me personally, as my SA6s stick out more than most users', making the over-the-ear thing unreliable. Hm. I'm still jonesing to try this, though. Like robojack, I really hope the receiver isn't too heavy.
The design can have been altered since the preproduction model. Usually you have a live mock-up with all the functionality in a simpler design so that you can play with the configuration of the hardware inside the unit.

It is probably really light, if it is heavy it would kill the good ergonomics of the SA6s. I have a hard time believing that the guys behind Sleek would make an accessory that seriously degrades the core products comfort.

I really hope that the receiver turns to be induvidual for each piece. With the size and comfort (and sound!!) of the sleeks, and a small receiver; they would keep a really low profile and be a good experience... Ideal for my country, if a robber see you using headphones here (specially iBuds) you can surely get stabbed... even while the police is watching!! (not my case, fortunately )

Wow, that's terrible. Stabbings over an iPod? Whatever happened to mugging by intimidation?

But on the downside, lighter often means using a smaller battery, which would mean shorter battery life. Hopefully Jason and his team has spent time reaching a compromise between the two factors.

I dont even understand how that works. The chord goes over the ear and that big black deal just hangs behind your head?

I was hoping for something more along the lines of what sennheiser has done. But we shall see what the final product is and how it works when it is actually done.

Oh hey... My birthday is August 4th. Want to make my sweet 16 incredibly wireless? (; Just kidding. Can't wait until this is released. Will Sleek Audio be selling a SA6 wireless or will it be a separate accesory only?

P.S. Best wishes in a quick recovery Jason.

dang, I was really hoping for true IEM wireless technology, Kinda sucks that we have to carry an antenna right next to our cerebellum. I know its progress but come on, we both know we where expecting to just insert some type of ear plug size wireless IEMs that would be stealthy and that no one would notice that we had background music inside our head. Besides I will admit, its alot better than having something like the bluetooth ear pieces that stick out our ear and look huge and tacky.

Anyways best of luck for all you wireless engineers,

Izzy

Speak for yourself. This is close to what I had pictured. Designed in one of two configurations: 1) Where the two drivers shared a common receiver, and 2) Where each driver had its own bulky receiver attached to the driver (similar to Senn's Kleer phone design).

For the sake of aesthetics, I'm pretty glad that they chose the shared receiver design. This way, there won't be one driver that's weaker than the other due to a less battery charge remaining. And since the Kleer receiver is located behind the head, at least from the front and certain angles, the drivers still look pretty slim-profile, instead of looking like you're wearing two mono-bluetooth headsets.

So is that correct then, that reciever just hangs there behind your head and bounces around on the back of your neck? Or maybe Im not picturing this correct?

looks okay, but aesthetically speaking, a lot more could be done.

frankly the transmitter is fine, but it should be longer and more thinned out, and perhaps curved so it could be worn over the head or along the back of the head like many of the sport headphones we see today. this would alleviate the problem of it "bouncing around". plus the receiver on whatever pmp could be a bit wider and a bit shorter since a majority of people will be using this with players at least as wide as a nano, and anything thinner will just damage the aesthetics.

kinda going out on a limb here, but thats MHO for WIW.

All I'm saying is that if we are going to eliminate the cable then lets make one huge leap and not baby steps that just seem to be more of a pain than anything. The size of the Kleer chip seems small enoughtthat it can fit into each drive and like Chuwy said, it could be placed behind the ear. And if theres ever a case where one reciever is weaker than the other reciever, then the technology is not ready yet to make the wireless leap.

I'd say lets stick to what works well as far as sound quality (cords) and lets go back to the lab and keep working on it untill we get it right. Just because there is progress, it doesn't mean that its ready.

People are going to be paying top dollar for this technology and they should recieve top dollar quality in return and not some half-a** design that was rushed out by the marketing department just to make a quick profit.
