I figured it out but it was far from self-evident. The fact they were black instead of clear like others threw me off.

I am using +bass, +treble with my iRiver H140>Earmax Pro>SA6.
Cables over-ear. Sound is stunning!!! This combo seems to be a good concert hall replication.
