FYI the midrange did work itself out after some more burn in. I definitely found myself dreading taking these out as I walked to my car after class on Friday.

Why did you dread it...? Sound that bad?

Hmm, right after I bought the RE0, too. Of course, I have no idea how the sound compares, but the SA1 are beautiful.

Read it again. acencsu dreaded taking them out (of his/her ears), because they sounded so good.

Ah... Good call. Not sure why I was thinking he was taking them out of his bag to listen to while driving. Lol. Dangerous!

Had to order a set. Will post impressions as soon as I have a handle on their sound characteristics.

No worries! I am excited to try them, since I liked much about the sound of the SA6. Over time I just felt their bass was a bit anemic. I hope these new SA1's rectify that, being dynamic driver. On the other hand, they could lose some of the mid and treble magic that the SA6's had. We'll see.....

Okay, so I plunged the needle in today with an order of these (I considered it way back on page one). The addiction continues. Something about that $79 price point, though I am not going to buy the RE0. I was also an early fan of the SA6, but after some durability issues with my pair, I moved on to the W3s and UM3Xs. Now, the S4s are delivering in a big way for $79, so why not the SA1s?
