Default Cable problems with X10s

Some Head-Fiers are having problem with the stress relief area below their X10s drivers, with the cable splitting or something along those lines. Anyone want to check in with their situations? Mine are intact so far, but this sounds like it could be something to worry about over time. My concern is that Klipsch will not honor the warranty on this (saying it's normal wear and tear), and that if it does become widespread, they will not act to strengthen the cable/stress relief on future X10 models.

Anyone else concerned? I split time between the X10s and the Sleek SA6s. Love them both, but the SA6 cables are replaceable (they have other durability issues, it seems). Not so for the Image X10s.

Amy (from Klipsch) have any comment on this issue?

Also experienced problems with silicon tips of both earphones - it partened into two. Use it for 6 mnths or so. I'm from Russia, I'm not really much embarrased with this technological fault, but i't worth to be mentioned, suppose.

I am looking at buying a pair of X5s and this revelation which I saw elsewhere is putting me off currently. Would like to see something positive from Klipsch soon as I am planning on making a purchase imminently.

Can't speak to the X10s, but I took advantage of the sale to get a SECOND pair of X5s.

They are so darn comfortable, I don't want to risk being without -- whenever that time comes.

That said, I've used the first pair for months now without any of the wear problems described by a few X10 owners.

Maybe something is different in the way they are manufactured. Can't think what it could be. Either way I think I may take a punt and get a pair except the site I found them on for £105 is now out of stock
