at any rate, the credit goes to mr nightwoundstime for coming up with that name, if next years event could really be named whatever i wanted, i would honestly pick bobs world of headphones but i dont think such frivolity will go well with serious members of headfi. i also doubt sponsors will think it to be a serious and solemn affair (with the exception of tyll of course )
You should know I was just kidding. Never in a million years should you take me seriously. Unless I'm talking about food, or my hatred of Miley Cyrus. I'm probably serious about that.
My first words to Meet Master Tyrion when he asked if I'd be willing to help with the next National (My answer: Yes. Again I wasn't serious because I ended up doing practically nothing), were "We're changing the name right?" Indeed that had already been established. Al knows we all love him from the deepest regions of our livers, but it just had to go.

seems to be a tradition to change the name every year. to me there will only be one headfest and one canjam any other event called by those names would just be a rip off. if you want a name to rock every year then don't b/s around it..just call it "high end headphone convention" and thats it.

I am 100% with this sentiment. Whomever is doing the organizing grunt work gets to name their National Meet any damn name they want. I know we did.

branding the event with a common name can only help.

Very good point! Ditto what othes have said in keeping it for the time being.

I think that since we already have a crap-ton of lanyards, and since CanJam is a pretty sweet name, we should make CanJam the official name! Plus, I'm the Prince of Head-Fi, so what I say goes!

I think branding the National Meet series as CanJam is the better way to go than naming each year as something new. What would we use next for Chicago, DC, or LA? I'm drawing a blank on cool, practical names for those cities...perhaps someone should throw out some more ideas for names?
