You guys will have a great time laughing at how stupid we get. Just find us at around 4am Sunday morning. We are easy to find, we travel in packs, tend to slur our words and walk like the floor is on an angle.

You will want to be there Saturday because of the dinner/concert. Otherwise, I don't think it will matter which day.

I obviously can't speak to this year's meet, but in the past, the first day was focussed on industry and the second on members.

That was true of the first meet in NYC. The one in SJ was essentially the same both days, with a few exceptions.

CJ, I'm going alone and I really don't know anyone (yet!). I know how weird it is going places alone, but it gets better with experience and, methinks, is an essential skill.
Couple years ago, I took off in my car for two months by myself and toured the south-west usa. You learn things about yourself when you're out-and-about.

The people that will be attending this meet as all others, are as friendly as you can imagine. Many are people you have already communicated with on Head-Fi. There will be no shortage of people to talk to and hang out with. There will be plenty of members hanging around the gear they've brought more then willing to speak to you about it. The same for the vendors.
