I'll be the bald, chubby (need to ride more!), huge-nosed, gap-toothed, loud-mouthed, wide-eyed, white, middle-aged, male.

i'm really hoping that i can attend this. i think i have accomodations worked out. now i just have to make sure i have my work schedule and then travel arrangements worked out!
if i can pull this off, please add me to whatever events there are - dinner, concerts, etc.

Thanks Voltron - and I can see what you mean about the wallet already! I had already broached the possibility - and price - of perhaps getting UE-10s with my wife (surprisingly) without major upset. (It probably helps that I just turned 40 and haven't talked AT ALL about buying a sports car ) But I haven't used IEMs before so maybe I need to start out with a cheaper pair (LiveWires or SuperFreqs?) to see if I can live with them. And while that will be very useful, maybe it would be better for home listening to get a decent pair of more traditional cans as well. And a decent amp really lifts the experience into another realm...and portable amp requirements are very different from home amp requirements...
Mazz, perhaps you might want to start out with some very good iems, eg. shure e5x0, etymotics, ue 5s or better yet triple.fis, westone um2s, altec lansing etc etc before jumping on customs or rather than starting with the cheap units, getting excited and then working your way up the food chain.
as far as sport cars go, one approach is to start talking about motorcycles first, then 'compromise' with the sports car.

Thanks tyrion!
I'm not going to need a room - I'm at a hotel near the work conference (maybe 15 minutes drive away) for the full week and a bit. I don't have the stamina to change hotels for the weekend so I'll commute down to CanJam.

No problem, just wanted to make sure you had a place to stay.

"Along these same lines, a survey conducted in 1995 by Yankelovich Partners reveals that 8 percent of those polled had participated in “New Age” rituals and practices such as contacting the dead, spirit channeling, investigating past lives, mental telepathy, healing through mind power or crystals, consulting a fortuneteller or astrologer, making plans based on their horoscope or presenting uncontrolled, sighted listening impressions in internet forums.[ref17] This survey includes practices that are not exclusively Pagan. However, if we apply the survey percentage of 8 percent to the U.S. population as a whole, then it does indicate that 21.6 million people were apparently open enough to New Age, Pagan, and other alternative practices to participate in them."

Did anyone invite Xin? Maybe he could personally deliver some Reference amps.

I'm going tomorrow, but I probably won't be able to make it Sunday even though I live like 20 minutes from the Embassy hotel.
I'm excited, it's going to be my first meet.
Looking forward to hear all the amazing gear you all have!
I'm bringing my DT880s.
