Yes, avatars are unfortunately limited in size and resolution (though, we like to think, unlimited in coolness ). But since the avatar pic is the one that people see all the time, it's a better aid to recognition than the profile pics which people see less often, and the idea here is to help people recognize each other even though they may never have met before in so-called real life.
Yeah, I figured that... my new thing is the photoshop-styled head-fi icon to the left of my post.

Kind of defeats the whole identification-aid purpose if you go changing your avatar 4 days before the meet.

Yeah, well I've only been using the Canjam logo, so I figured I'd get something more unique...

That was my thinking too. A red canjam logo that's tilted isn't quite as unique as the polar bear. That said, I am off color and tilted.

I might have to get some shots of me wearing the R10s or HP1000s.

No, I was talking about your avatar. I see that it's 100 X 100, but it gives the illusion of being bigger than everyone else's.
Sort of like an avatar on Cialas.

Well, it was an opportunity to mention the animated-avs-show-up-as-first-frame thing, juuuust in case someone had an animated av that didn't work well with that.

Go to your UserCP and click on Paid Subscriptions. It'll list the National Meet there if you're paid up.

My CanJam registration is listed, at the top, right above the entire list of Subscription options with the pull down menus.
Dinner and Concert is not listed, because I PayPal'd Tyrion directly (along with my T-Shirt orders).
