Well said bhjazz! It's a rare thing when such a large group can be as enthusiastic about a common interest and still be as open to differing opinions and points of view.
I'm in the same boat as you,.. my car ate the funds I was saving for going to CanJam. I knew I was going to be bummed especially after meeting some of the infamous Fl. gang at Mayberry on Acid.
So, to all you lucky Headfiers, have a fantastic weekend and have a brew on me (I'll be sure to post my VISA info later).
And pictures,pictures,pictures!!!!!!!!!!

Getting the buzz from 3000 miles away!
I'll open some 'exotic' beers whilst reading your posts. Can British beer be called exotic to you?
Getting the urge to organise a large UK Head Fest so I'm keen to learn what you like and dislike about the event. Not looking to make money but give the hobby a kick start here (and drink some exotic Canadian beer!)
Very keen to find out what revelations you guys find around equipment combos. Have a great time.

Joe, elnero, wower, sceptre (UK beer is ok by us) whom I would like to meet someday, and then my friends Ric, Brian, Steve, whom I met through this great community, I wish you were all here. It is 4:40 am local time and the room 532 party is just winding down. Gene and I hosted another and larger group for partying this evening including the Canucks -- philodox and glendaleviper; the Cayman maniac Wmcmanus; the NYC crew that was well represented with immtbiker, bozebuttons, lan, daveDerek, The_Monkey, and other; the POS stevieo; the marylander, grawk; To sir from new hampshire N_Maher; the Limey (as stevieo called him) Grahame; the true California contingent iron dreamer, edwood, guzziguy and others; the chiunify man himself, Beeely bhd812; the OG from Boston goin' back to the beginnings, DanG; the Todd man from Montana; Queen Vicki; Matt the Younger; meet Meister Mike and former SoFla Glue Man JP11801; and the MAN HIMSELF, Jude. This was some GOOD STUFF!
More pics, more fun, and more GEAR tomorrow. Our goal is to the Wu Clan up in here tomorrow night! Their remote-controlled WA2 is KILLER! Can't wait to see the WA5 and other versions. Jack, we want to party with you!

Hehe, I'm flattered by your desire to party with me, but I'm kind of the non-partying type. sounds like you all had fun though, if the confusing voicemail on my cell is any indication.
I'm downstairs right now. Have been inhaling eggs and slurping coffee for the last hour or so. See you all when you wake up.

Hi Sceptre,
We had a national UK meet last October in Manchester. Went off really well with a lot of good gear there (see Meet Impressions thread). About 25 came. Something also happened in Edinburgh in March.
There is another meet coming up, again in Manchester, but it's at someone's house so not a "national" meet as such. Timing's no good for me.
Something a bit closer to London would be nice but Manchester was deemed a fair choice as it is within reasonable travelling distance for the four nations.
Put the feelers out on the Meets forum if you fancy it, I know there was a lot of enthusiasm afterwards to do it again. There are plenty of UK head-fi'ers out there but unfortunately some seem to be less than willing to travel that far, unlike these CanJam guys

Raul ... I wish you could have been there ... we missed you.
You would have dug it, and I can imagine you being all over the Smythe Research stuff, and the gorgeous diy stuff Nate had, as well as about 50 other amazing rigs.
Next year, buddy .. start planning now.
