only two choices of headphones for me are balanced 650 or balanced r10. considering i sure as hell cant afford a balanced r10, a balanced 650 will probably be the winner but i want to wait until i hear vicki's k340 and a few other cans.

amp wise, 80% leaning towards craig's tiny solid state. that amp failed at NOTHING i threw at it. you can tell that it has to work to sound good unlike the b52 or the sds xlr where the sound is just effortless but something that sounds that good for that low of a price is basically a dead sure buy.

source, i dont know. i spent too much time and energy on trying out different amps and headphones i didnt really pay attention to the sources. another mistake i made to be mentioned in this thread. >< ugh i have to complete the list sometime. at any rate, i dont even know how much the street price is for different sources so i have to wait for a while.

overall i dont see myself buying any of the above for quite a few months, not just because of financial reasons but i want to hear a lot more gear before i settle down with a certain rig.

unrelated to headfi but one of my favorite quotes - "me...im dishonest and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest...honestly its the honest ones you have to watch out for...cuz you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly....stupid"
