LOL, we need to get him in a car in SoCal in the summer.

Hey philodox, I can teach you all about sun protection For medical reasons I have to avoid daylight on my skin, and keep the light level entering my eyes rather low (hence the sunglasses indoors - and another layer of really really dark sunglasses over the top of those outdoors). With the right preparation you can handle the radiation - but you may need to go into training to handle the heat in enclosed environments like cars. Acclimation via sauna?

I don't think he could handle a sauna. That must be a real challenge in the heat of summer in Sydney.

Good thing we didn't hold the meet next month or...gasp...in August.

Admit it, you were just trying to look uber cool in kick ass headphones. Even though it was great meeting you, we're on to that whole medical ruse!

Damn, they're not buying the medical ruse thing!

Well, at least they get the extremely cool thing (gratuitous Chuck E. Weiss reference), as evidenced by the three layers of clothing shown in the photo. The white one is thermal underwear (which I also had on under my trousers) - and my hands and feet were still feeling cold. Gives new meaning to chilling out...

And you get some serious double-takes when you put the gloves on, the hood up, layer on the extra sunglasses - and head outdoors in the middle of a warm day!

I have to give you credit mazz. You don't look a total goober in those. I certainly do when I wear them.

I hope it ends up in DC as I travel there fairly regularly anyway (fiancee's from Laurel, so we visit often). I can see that, Chicago, or somewhere in Texas being a good choice.
