Absolutely!
The important thing is that Head-Fi'ers attend, and hence make it worth it for the vendors to show up.
Excited to see where the 2009 [Inter]national Head-Fi meeting will be held.

team Cali is answering the call with LA in2009 location is LAX area hotel. LA would rock with tons of locals, easy airport access , many hotels set up for large meetings and LA is a music town.
Also team DC/Baltimore has answered the call and I am certain could rock the house.
Both would be great locations as they have major airport access, tons of hotels to hold the event and plenty of locals to draw from.
Baltimore/DC would draw from Boston to Va and LA has all of Cal to draw from. So far I think these are the only two cities to step up and declare we want the InterNational Meet in 09 and have a core team.

got to agree with mike, the FL meets are normally the largest since we have SOO many members from FL.
I dont mind where it is, as long as its not overseas =)

Dom while FL has probably the most cohesive core group they are not the largest community by a fairly wide margin. NY, DC/Balt, Chicago, NorCal and SoCal (I am sure I missed a few) off the top of my head all have larger base headfi populations to draw from. Florida is special because member dedication is fervent within the core team. All the previously mentioned cities have had regionals that were larger than the normal (non-canjam) meets by a fairly wide margin. Florida is a draw because it is by far the most fun loving crowd around. A good example was at a meet I traveled to about a year and a half ago it was like a library in the meet room. There were NO liquids allowed, no talking, no merriment... Florida meets are more about catching up with friends and having a pint or five while you listen to gear.
The meet for 09 really does need to be held in a place were there is a large population of local headfiers to support the event. I have made the hat trick and been to all three InterNationals along with a dozen or so others but I am not too sure others share the same passion for the meets that allow them to get past the travel part. If they just went to one they would get bit by the bug and have to attend more of these.
Heck we now have a Headfi travel team that was 20-25% of the MOA attendance, in 2004 when I joined the travel team was Wayne.

I'm thinking the next ATL meet should be at Hooters.

Then everything would truly be in stereo, although not all components might be fully balanced!

Along with your occasional after-market modification.

There may be some single-ended standouts.

The US, EU, Canadian, Asian, etc, meets could all take place over one weekend, but that would mean some people would have to choose which one to attend and some vendors might be caught up in that same choice.
unfortunately the reality of factoid #1 might make simultaneous multi-meets financially prohibitive.
here's a concept, since many folks regard nyc as the greatest city i the world (and one can reasonably travel there from virtually anywhere there are head-fiers) why not have all the (inter)nat meets here and different crew can host it each yr!

Only works if you have local people starting off the organizing, there's a lot more ground work leading up to it, and not all of it can be done remotely. It would end up with the same people organizing it each year. You up for it?
And not everyone thinks NYC is the greatest city in the world.

I'd be happy to work with others on it.

Why don't we just all pile in Wayne's new huge *** RV and do a cross country national meet.
But seriously, Baltimore is a great city and would be a great place to have a meet. I split my time between NJ and Boston so I could help out in either place. An idea for the next International Meet though. Could we have it at a time that isn't the beginning of May when all the College students have final exams.
