Thanks to all those that are booking rooms early. I will end up sounding like a broken record but the more rooms we book early the easier it will be for me to get additional rooms at the reduced price.
I'm thinking about having a high school jazz trio play Friday night as we are setting up. They are pretty talented musicians and I think they would love the opportunity. It's just a thought.

Aw man, the Sheraton down the road from the Embassy Suites is all booked out for these dates already! Would've preferred to capitalize on my Starwood membership for cheaper too. Is there an easy/cheap way to get from the Westin at 400 Corporate Dr also in Ft Lauderdale (ZIP code 33334) to the Embassy Suites?

Weston would be a 30 minute drive each way and probably a $30 cab fare each way. There is no other easy way to get from there to the ES.

Actually making it to an international meet hosted by South Florida is better than a prize, though, they'll be chances to win things as well.
By the way, I'm helping organize this thing and still paying for my own room. It's a just a regular meet put together by local head-fiers for head-fiers, just bigger, better, and more fun.

That pays for toys. Right now, I want to hardwire my K1000s, am getting my K340s reterminated to a 4-pin to use with an Equinox tail and FirstWatt, want to get some additional mods done to my source, am looking at subwoofers for my Abbys, am trying hard to stay away from the TakeT group buy, and am definitely saving for a new Senn announcement sometime this year....whew.

Sweet!
Alright, I'll definitely make both upcoming meets in florida!
I've never been, but from what I've been reading on this thread (I actually read the whole thread) it should be fun.

Casique anyone? Hey, try to bring a 4.5 liter Johnnie walker...you know what I'm talking about.

I don't know how I missed this thread until now ... Oh yeah, work, rebuilding the fence, catching diseases from your 3 year old ... anyway enough of that. I've been hearing all these big, impressive stories about the Florida party mongers. Well, Back off man I'm a scientist and I need proof. (and don't say well we have the pictures. I know what you can do in photoshop). So I guess I'll just have to make a trip down and see if you guys and gals live up to your rep. See you in May.
Update: OK, the guantlet has been thrown down (i.e. the room is booked), I expect a serious partay [Where's the slightly inebriated but still funny smilie?]

Hey you know some Venezuelan rum! Cacique is one of the best value rums worldwide. (Edit: just checked, despite how inexpensive it is, Cacique is regarded as premium in some rum connoscieur circles.)
I was thinking more along the lines of "Santa Teresa 1796", "Ron Pampero Aniversario", or "Ron Diplomático Selecto."
